What is Contoura Vision? Contoura Vision is a very highly-evolved version of LASIK and Epi-LASIK. With Contoura Vision, a diagnostic device called the Vario Topolyzer captures 22,000 topographic elevation points that create a 3D map of various corneal aberrations. shape and texture of each individual’s cornea. This customized topographic information is then incorporated into the laser treatment profile to optimize the shape and texture of the cornea (compared to simply treating nearsightedness and astigmatism from a standard glasses prescription). Since corneal topography is used for the treatment, it is also referred to as “Topo-guided” Contoura Vision. The goal of a Topo-guided Contoura Vision treatment is to obtain the absolute pinnacle of visual performance, including better visual acuity and better night vision results.
Artificial intelligence technology has further improved Contoura Vision
The “Phorcides Analytic Engine” is a modern diagnostic software platform that utilizes artificial intelligence, advanced algorithms, and differential geometry to design the most ideal Contoura Vision treatment profile for each individual. This technology integrates optical information from two diagnostic devices (Vario Topolyzer and Pentacam Tomographer). This information is interpreted and analyzed for an additional level of predictability and personalization compared to first-generation Contoura Vision.
Are you a candidate of Contoura vision?
Ideal candidates for Contoura must be otherwise good candidates for Laser Vision Correction and have “nearsightedness” or “nearsightedness with astigmatism” (Maximum nearsightedness of -8.0 Diopters, maximum astigmatism 3.0 diopters or less. Patients with farsightedness or mixed astigmatism are better suited for Wavefront-Optimized LASIK or Epi-LASIK, instead. The first step is to find out if you are a candidate for a vision correction procedure. We look forward to seeing you!
