Based on your age and other answers, there is a good chance that you’re a candidate for Vision Correction!
Custom Lens Replacement (CLR) is likely the best recommendation for you. First, it is important for patients over age 40 to understand about an age-related change that affects near vision, called Presbyopia (“Dysfunctional Lens Syndrome”). While many patients seek “perfect 20/20 distance vision” and are not opposed to using over-the-counter readers for near work, many other patients don’t want to need reading glasses at all. Either way, we can help.
CLR is an amazing treatment because it corrects so many visual issues. Not only will it correct common issues such as nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism, it also addresses presbyopia (near vision loss) and prevents cataract development. It will also last you the rest of your lifetime!
CLR is performed in our office (similar to LASIK), with the same support team you met during your consultation. Technically speaking, it is very similar to cataract surgery (the most commonly performed surgical procedure in the US), where the aging lens is removed and replaced with an advanced implant that restores vision. In cataract surgery, typically one eye is treated and then a surgeon will wait several weeks before performing surgery on the other eye.
WIth CLR, both eyes are treated at the same time. CLR aims to give you the ability to see without glasses at all distances. Performing it in our facility allows us to control the entire experience. Patients tell us this is a far better experience for them overall, when you take into account the convenience of bilateral treatment and already knowing the team that supports the surgeon.
Depending on your specific scenario and near vision requirements, at your consultation we will discuss all about Custom Lens Replacement, or if another option such as Monovision (“Blended LASIK”) would fit your visual needs and lifestyle best. That’s why we recommend scheduling your free consultation, so we can determine your best and safest option. Learn more about your potential options:
To help you learn more, we will be sending you our 7-part educational video series. In each short video, you will hear our surgeons answer commonly asked questions that you will appreciate knowing before the next step.
The Next Step: Free Consultation
To determine if you are good candidate requires a few specific measurements that can only be done in person. It’s also your chance to meet our doctors and surgeons and have your questions answered.
