California IntraLASIK

IntraLASIK is one term that many have heard used, but whose definition may be unclear.

The LASIK procedure has traditionally consisted of two overall steps. First is the cutting of a small flap in the cornea using a microkeratome, which is an advanced machine with an extremely precise blade. Second, the surgeon uses an excimer laser to reshape the material that makes up the cornea. IntraLASIK is a laser that takes the place of the microkeratome blade, in effect, making the entire LASIK procedure possible using lasers only.
