Before the Procedure:

After Dr. Bindi determines that you are a good candidate for LASIK, he will instruct you to stop wearing your contact lenses and use only your glasses for a few weeks. This ensures that the Dr. can get an accurate measurement of the curvature of your eyes. The doctor will also inform you that you should not wear any makeup or eye cream on the day of the procedure.

During the Procedure:

Dr. Bindi will clean the area around your eye after giving you numbing drops. Your eyelids will be held open by a speculum as you recline in a comfortable chair. The entire process only lasts about half an hour, and you shouldn’t feel any pain. As Dr. Bindi skillfully guides the laser over your eye, everything will go black and you will hear a rhythmic ticking sound. Dr. Bindi will tell you exactly what is going on throughout the procedure to keep you calm and involved.

After the Procedure:

Dr. Bindi will place a protective shield over you eye and instruct you on how to care for your eyes with the prescribed drops. He will then schedule a follow-up visit. Once you clearly understand your eye care instructions, you are free to enjoy a life with great vision.
