Because there is so much competition in the LASIK field these days, many centers are advertising discounted fees to attract business. Some will advertise a per eye fee that seems drastically lower than what other laser eye centers charge. Approach such centers with caution or avoid them all together. Usually these advertised prices come with a lot of stipulations and do not include essential services. They are just a way to get you in the door with the hope that you won't bother to shop around or do the appropriate research. You will also find that the low prices may only apply to LASIK for a certain range of prescriptions, usually mild prescriptions.
